Privacy statement

Avanti Jure Advocatuur (Avanti Jure) considers your right to privacy important and has therefore taken the necessary measures to protect your personal data as referred to in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Avanti Jure processes data from:

  • natural persons involved in an agreement with Avanti Jure, for example, as a client(s) or counterparty;

  • natural persons representing a legal person, partnership or other entity involved in an agreement with Avanti Jure, for example, as client(s) or counterparty;

  • natural persons who are the ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) of a legal person, partnership or other entity and Avanti Jure is required under the Wwft to identify that person.

The following personal data are processed of these natural persons - as far as necessary: surname, initials, first names, gender, address, postal code, place of residence, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, IP address, date of birth, place of birth, position, nationality, BSN, marital status, medical data, financial data and (passport) photos.

Personal data is obtained by Avanti Jure from the person himself, from third parties and by consulting public sources. Extracts from the Commercial Register of the Chamber of Commerce, the Basic Registration of Persons, the Land Registry and a copy of the identity document are kept - as far as necessary.

Purpose & Basis

Avanti Jure processes personal data for:

  • being able to provide legal services and fulfil assignments and agreements, including advice, mediation, referral and conducting (legal) proceedings;

  • complying with the provisions of the law, such as, for example, the Regulation on the Legal Profession (Voda) and the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism Act (Wwft);

  • marketing and communication activities;

  • serving certain legitimate interests of relations, for example in the context of identifying data subjects, providing requested and unsolicited information and referring certain requests for help.

Avanti Jure ensures that the processing of personal data is always proportionate to the purpose of the processing and only processes personal data if the purpose of the processing cannot be achieved in another, less intrusive, way.

Processing within the EEA

Avanti Jure processes your personal data only within the European Economic Area. This may be different if we have written agreements with you about this. We then assess whether the level of personal data security guaranteed by the AVG is not undermined and whether we have a sufficient interest in processing outside the European Economic Area. 

Partners

Avanti Jure works with partners both in terms of consultancy and within the framework of its own business operations. In terms of our own business operations, these include our administration office, IT supplier(s) and the Dutch Bar Association. As far as advice is concerned, you should think of judicial authorities, bailiffs, notaries, accountants and tax specialists.

If Avanti Jure involves partners in its advice because of their specialist knowledge and resources, you will be informed. We agree with our partners, that they comply with all obligations under the AVG in the same way we do (or better).

Retention periods

Personal data processed by Avanti Jure will not be kept longer than necessary to fulfil the aforementioned purposes and comply with legal requirements.

Safety measures

Personal data processed by Avanti Jure is protected by organisational and technical measures such as: firewalls, encryption of personal data and access controls. These measures minimise the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and modification of personal data. Should we nevertheless face a data breach, we will inform you. If necessary, we will also report this to the Personal Data Authority

Rights

You have the right to information about, access, correct, supplement, delete and block your personal data. You also have the right to object, data portability, oblivion and restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time. If, as a result, Avanti Jure can no longer carry out the task you have given to Avanti Jure, Avanti Jure will terminate the agreement.

Complaints

You can also contact us if you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data. If we cannot work it out together, you always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Authority. Changes

We regularly update our privacy policy, for example when necessary to comply with laws and regulations. The most recent version of the privacy statement can be found on our website: www.avanti-jure.com.
